Mrs. Ebony Murrie

Owner

I have always enjoyed children and spent most of my childhood caring for younger family members: this helped introduce me to the techniques of childcare. After having my oldest son, I turned my passion into employment. That was the beginning of owning my first childcare Jump For Joy Daycare. In 2015 I obtained my Child Development Associates and then obtained my degree in Early Child Development in 2020 from Baker College. I have worked in Childcare for Over 25 years and strive to build positive relationships while focusing on each child’s social and emotional needs.

Mr. Gregory Murrie

Owner

Greg has over 20 years of experience in management and was a successful owner of a comic book store located in Plymouth Michigan. In early 2022 he was approached with the idea of joining the team. He was ecstatic with the opportunity and thought this would be a better decision for his family and decided to dissolve his partnership to join his wife to offer quality care at Little Owl Treehouse. He is very involved in the everyday operations at the center, and you can often find him working in the office, repairing a leak, or working in the kitchen. He still has a huge passion for comics and hopes to one day open up another location in the downriver area.

Mission

The mission of Little Owl Tree House is to provide safe, affordable, high-quality child care for families living or working in the Downriver Area. Little Owl Tree House provides a cognitively based program for children ages six weeks to twelve years. We provide a home-like environment where children are encouraged to develop at their own pace. Our staff is committed to the families we serve, providing support and encouragement.

Vision

Our vision is to help children learn about themselves while emphasizing individual growth and development in an academically oriented curriculum. We would like for the children we care for to look back at their childcare experience and know that they are someone and to never think differently.

Philosophy

I believe children learn best in a clean organized friendly and inviting space. I make sure that upon arrival everything is organized and ready for the children to explore and learn. I find that it’s best to label the bins and shelves with photos and words to help the children put the items back when it’s me to move on to a new area or activity. I strongly believe they learn new things by using their five senses, so instead of telling the children that the flowers in the garden grow tall and smell nice.
